Materials used in production
RAIN TREE (MONKEY POD/SAMAN/CHINESE TEAK):
A very hard wood and beautiful to look at. The dark chestnut and yellow grain give it a refined appearance. Chinese Teak is slightly softer than Classic Teak and lend itself better to the production of small pieces for our games.
White wood with good density and strength that make it possible to produce also small and round pieces. It’s famous for rubber production.
Also called “Mahogany Sipo”, it grows in Equatorial Africa. Main uses: fine carpentry, precious furniture, furnishing for homes and ships, interior fixtures, luxury floors, artistic craftsmanship.
Used for small objects, handles, brushes, rail sleepers and floor tiles. Origin: Western Africa, Cameroon, Gabon and Congo.
Used in carpentry and cabinet-making (both as solid wood and plywood), also in replacement of precious wood. Origin: Equatorial and Western Arica.
One of the most used wood for furniture. It’s a warm and trendy wood. Very decorative, it grows in tropical African forests of Congo and Mozambique basin.
Medium hardness wood, not too heavy, with good resistance. It has a light brown color with darker veins that give it an unmistakable appearance. Origin: Western Africa.
MAPLE DECOR - MAPLE
Heavy wood with tight and compact pores. It’s a very strong wood, with evident and beautiful light veins. Origin: North America, Europe.
Used in carpentry for exteriors, ladders, floor tiles, cabinet-making furniture, decorative blocks, knife handles and various tools. Origin: Equatorial Africa.
During the production the 2.5, 4.5 and 6 mm gauge wire is used. After careful bending, the metal is nickel plated according to European CE standards. The nickel plating is of the highest quality, so as to make the product shiny even after many handling.
Main part of our Thai games are hand-made, even if modern tools are used too, such as the router and the fretsaw.
The workers of our factories are treated according to the European model: well and regularly paid. Child labor is never used.
In Thailand child labor in factories has been banned for more than 10 years now.
Maximum attention to the environment: the wood used for our puzzles comes exclusively from artificially grown and reusable forests. All treatments used to make them resistant to time and humidity are of excellent quality, non -toxic and they all comply with CE regulations.
All solid wood that we use to build Puzzles and Games is coming from Regenerated Forests.
It means that the forests are held by small family or countryside farmers that plant 1 new tree once they cut the previous one to guarantee their future.
RAIN TREE (MONKEY POD/SAMAN/CHINESE TEAK/ACACIA): it is a dark-wood with beautiful lines.
IMPORTANT: his kind of wood comes from REGENERATED FORESTS in northern Thailand (1 cut wood = 1 planted wood). It is basically FARMED TREES, growing in special farms for furniture sector.
The tree: the species itself is not threatened and as a farmed tree no naturally grown forests are in danger from its cultivation.

In Thailand The project of Reforestation and Restoration is promoted by special Government Department: Foundation for Environmental Education for Sustainable Development Thailand.
There’re numerous educational and reforestation programs in Thailand to educate their children from school to take care about the environment. An example is www.ecothailand.org

- Monkey Pod
