RAIN TREE (MONKEY POD/SAMAN/CHINESE TEAK):

RUBBER WOOD:

Also called “Mahogany Sipo”, it grows in Equatorial Africa. Main uses: fine carpentry, precious furniture, furnishing for homes and ships, interior fixtures, luxury floors, artistic craftsmanship.

THE PRODUCTION
Main part of our Thai games are hand-made, even if modern tools are used too, such as the router and the fretsaw.
The workers of our factories are treated according to the European model: well and regularly paid. Child labor is never used.
In Thailand child labor in factories has been banned for more than 10 years now.
Maximum attention to the environment: the wood used for our puzzles comes exclusively from artificially grown and reusable forests. All treatments used to make them resistant to time and humidity are of excellent quality, non -toxic and they all comply with CE regulations.
Production

All solid wood that we use to build Puzzles and Games is coming from Regenerated Forests.
It means that the forests are held by small family or countryside farmers that plant 1 new tree once they cut the previous one to guarantee their future.
RAIN TREE (MONKEY POD/SAMAN/CHINESE TEAK/ACACIA): it is a dark-wood with beautiful lines.
IMPORTANT: his kind of wood comes from REGENERATED FORESTS in northern Thailand (1 cut wood = 1 planted wood). It is basically FARMED TREES, growing in special farms for furniture sector.
The tree: the species itself is not threatened and as a farmed tree no naturally grown forests are in danger from its cultivation.
Thai Forests regeneration program mentions: https://www.fao.org/3/ad466e/ad466e09.htm
In Thailand The project of Reforestation and Restoration is promoted by special Government Department: Foundation for Environmental Education for Sustainable Development Thailand.
There’re numerous educational and reforestation programs in Thailand to educate their children from school to take care about the environment. An example is www.ecothailand.org
Some items, like BARREL puzzle are made of 2 different types of wood::
- Monkey Pod
- Rubber Wood
Rubber wood is a white wood exactly the wood from which people in Thailand extract the rubber/ caoutchouc.
